September 7th Newsletter – Spelt French Bread

Dear Spelties,

This weeks Spelt recipe – Spelt French Bread


2 cups hot water
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon organic cane sugar
1 teaspoon vinegar
6 1/2 cups white spelt flour
3 tablespoons yeast


Place ingredients in mixer in order listed

Mix on speed #1 for 5 minutes

Mix on speed #2 for 5 minutes

Let rise in mixer bowl covered on warm stove, about one hour

Divide in 2, shape into 2 french loaves and place on cookie sheet with parchment paper for baking

let rise again for 20 to 25 minutes depending on temperature of kitchen, spray with warm water and slit diagonally 5 slits

Bake 20 to 25 mins in 350 degree oven.
